About PomoPlan

PomoPlan is a study session advisor built to help you manage time, stay focused, and work more efficiently, every single study session.

The Problem

Every student has experienced this

You sit down to study, but before you've even opened your notes you're already wondering: How long should I study? When should I take a break? Am I too tired to push through right now?

This is decision fatigue, and it drains your mental energy before your actual studying even begins. The Pomodoro Technique is proven to help, but a rigid 25-minute timer ignores how you actually feel today.

PomoPlan solves this by taking inputs such as your energy level, time available, deadline urgency, and sleep hours, then generating a personalised study plan with Pomodoro blocks and suggested break timing for each session.

How PomoPlan works

  1. You enter your energy level (1–10 slider)
  2. You enter last night's sleep in hours
  3. You enter time available to study today
  4. You select your deadline urgency
  5. PomoPlan calculates your ideal work block length
  6. It generates your full Pomodoro schedule with a session table

The science behind it

Research shows that sleep deprivation significantly reduces cognitive performance. PomoPlan accounts for this by applying a sleep modifier to your session length, so if you only slept 4 hours, your work blocks are automatically shortened to match your real capacity.

The Pomodoro Technique

Why Pomodoro?

The Pomodoro Technique was created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It breaks work into focused intervals, separated by short breaks.

Under the Hood

How the algorithm adapts your plan

PomoPlan uses four inputs to calculate the ideal study schedule for you today.

Input What it affects How it works
Energy Level (1–10) Base work block length Low energy - 15 min blocks · Peak energy - 45 min blocks
Sleep Hours Sleep modifier (0.6 – 1.0) Less sleep - shorter blocks to protect cognitive performance
Time Available Total number of Pomodoros Fills available time with as many complete blocks as possible
Deadline Urgency Break length and strategy Critical - 3 min breaks · Low urgency - longer, relaxed breaks
